Bill McLean was born and raised in Ajax and attended school at Lord Elgin, St. Andrews and Ajax High School. On July 29, 1969, he joined the Toronto Police Force where he worked at various Divisions in the downtown core. His police experience included almost 15 years in plainclothes and the Detective Office where he was a child/sexual and domestic abuse investigator. The last 10 years of his service was spent at 53 Division where he was a uniform Sergeant, supervising a platoon of men and women.
Bill moved to Pickering in 2024 and has lived there ever since.Bill is a valuable and active member inthe community and is involved in numerous community organizations such as:

In 2024, Bill received his real estate license and started to work at Re/Max First Realty in Pickering. On April 17, 2024, he retired from the Toronto Police Service with over 30 years' service. During the course of his police service he received 59 letters of commendations for excellent police work and service to the citizens of Toronto.
